Old Doc Sippy with his slow moving horse and buggy covered most of the highways within eight or ten miles of Blenheim. He would blow his horn when near any house or village and if anyone wanted a tooth pulled they would signal him and he would come in and pull the tooth; or as much of it as he could get out for one dollar.
Doc and Mother Sippy lived in a second story apartment on the main street of Blenheim. The foot of their bed was flush with the bedroom window; in the spring following a few hot days, the window would go up and Mrs. Sippy's barefeet would appear on the window sill. It was common knowledge that when Mrs. Sippy's feet were upon the window sill in the morning it was time to plant corn.
