When about 5 years old I was visiting my grandparents, David and Catharine Hamil, on the farm. Grandmother was milking a heifer, sitting on a three-legged stool, with the pail half full when the cow didn't approve of something and kicked over the pail of milk. The heifer put its tail up, circled the lot and came back close to the starting point and looked at grandmother who shook her fist at the cow and said angrily, ³You hussy.² I shuddered. I hadn't heard that word before and thought it must be a very bad word.
